And a perfect guest to talk about it is Pakistani journalist Nasim Zehra, a national security specialist. Zehra says that despite the feeling of having reached a stalemate, negotiations are ongoing, with Tehran and Washington exchanging messages. Rick says there's a sense that Iran is apprehensive about the talks and conflict and the Pakistani journalist agrees. She adds the US hasn't managed to defeat a country that's been under sanctions and constant bombing for years, and this conflict is becoming more costly for Washington as it upsets allies, which Trump recognizes. Zehra advises the US president to rethink his cooperation with what she described as the Middle East’s destabilizing power – Israel. She says it’s the only country that disobeys international law to the discontent of a growing number of states.
