SpaceX is launching Starship, the world’s most powerful rocket, from Starbase, Texas, for its 14th flight test and first attempt to reach Earth’s orbit. Standing about 124 meters tall, Starship is expected to carry next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, in what will be the vehicle’s first deployment of operational payloads into orbit. The spacecraft is expected to remain in orbit for around ten hours before carrying out a deorbit burn and returning to Earth.
Flight 14 marks a new phase in SpaceX’s development of Starship as a fully and rapidly reusable launch system, built to carry satellites and cargo into orbit, with future missions planned for the Moon and Mars.
