Sasha meets Russia. Flavors of the East. Kaliningrad: Where Russia Begins!

Sasha, an American with Russian roots, travels to Kaliningrad Region – a land with a truly Russian soul.

In Baltiysk, home to Russia’s Baltic Fleet, she uncovers the town’s maritime history. In Kaliningrad, she dives into the region’s culinary traditions, learning to prepare the famous Konigsberg meatballs and discovering their surprising ingredient: anchovies.

In Zelenogradsk, Sasha tastes freshly caught flounder, finds amber on the beach, and makes a marzipan heart beside an ancient castle.

At the end of her journey, on July 4, Sasha joined local residents in celebrating Kaliningrad Region’s 80th anniversary!
